Hypnotherapy in Newcastle & Tea Gardens
If you can do something perfectly well and still feel you are getting away with it or feel Imposter Syndrome, you are not alone, and it is not vanity to want that to change. Confidence sits on a belief about yourself, and that is the part I work with.
Start with a free consultation. Tell me where you are up to, and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person to help.

Confidence therapy with me is one to one, in my rooms at Lambton or at Tea Gardens. Together we look at the belief underneath and at where it was formed, in a relaxed and focused state where the subconscious mind is more open to change.
A pep talk is aimed at the part of you that already agrees. The doubt lives somewhere older, in a belief about yourself that was usually formed a long time ago and by somebody else's remark.
Your subconscious mind prefers what is familiar, and if the familiar story is that you are not quite enough, it will keep finding evidence for it, however well the week has gone.
None of that is a personal failure. It is simply how the mind works, and it is the reason we go to the belief itself rather than practise being confident on top of it.
The question I am asked most on the phone
A relaxed, focused state, a bit like being deeply absorbed in something. In that state the mind is more receptive to suggestions that fit with what you already want for yourself.
You remain fully aware throughout. You hear everything I say, you can talk to me, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
Hypnosis is used these days in dentistry, in medicine, in law enforcement, in professional sport and in education, alongside therapeutic work like mine.
One to one, in my own rooms, usually across a few appointments

First
Where it stops you, when you first remember feeling it, what you already do well, and what you would like to be able to walk into without dread. I am listening for the story underneath what you tell me.
Then
You settle back in the chair and I guide you into that relaxed, focused state, and we work on the belief and on where it came from. Justine, whose words are below, wrote about shifting an old story she had been telling herself for years.
Last
The situation you want to handle differently, how to take it in steps, and what we work on when you next come in. You leave with something to use rather than only something to think about.

One session where it is attached to a single situation, and three or four where the belief has been there since childhood. I will have a better idea what is best for you when we have a complimentary phone consultation.
Hypnotherapy is not something that is done to you. You play an active part in it, and it takes determination and commitment on your behalf. When it goes well, we have achieved that together, and the part you played in it is a real one.
All you need is an open mind, to be able to follow simple instructions and want the change for yourself, not because someone else wants the change.
People come to me about one thing and we frequently find ourselves talking about sleep, or stress, or grief, or a stretch of life that got very heavy, because these things rarely sit on their own.
I have worked in health and wellness for over thirty years and I work with the whole person rather than with one symptom in isolation. If there is something else going on for you, bring it with you and we will look at it together.
People often read about Performance Hypnotherapy in Newcastle alongside it, and everything else I offer is where everything else sits.

Owner of Holistic Health Hypnotherapy
I see people one to one, in my own rooms at Lambton. My diploma covered clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, life coaching and counselling modules, as well as trauma therapy, EMDR and psychotherapy and I have spent over thirty years in health and wellness. I am not a psychologist or a counsellor, and where your doctor is the right person I will tell you so.
There is coaching in it, and my diploma covered NLP and life coaching as well as clinical hypnotherapy. The difference is that we also work with the belief itself rather than only with what you do about it.
One where it is attached to a single situation, three or four where it has been there a long time. We talk about that at your consultation.
Often, yes. Ring me and tell me the date and I will give you my honest view.
No. The people I see describe feeling more like themselves rather than less, which is rather the point.
You remain fully aware and in control the whole time. You hear everything, you can speak, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
It does, and it is one of the things I am asked about most. We work on the belief and on the reaction in the moment.
Suite 5, 115 Elder Street, Lambton NSW 2299, and I also see people at Tea Gardens.
No. Medicare doesn't cover hypnotherapy, and it can't be claimed on a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Whether your private health fund pays anything back depends on your fund and your extras cover, so it's worth checking with them before you book. If you'd like to talk it through first, book a free phone call with me.
These are independent Australian health and professional bodies. They are not connected to this practice and they do not endorse it.
The consultation is free. Pick a time in my calendar and tell me where you are up to, and if I do not think I can help you I will say so.
Pick a day and time that suits you, and I will call you then.
