Hypnotherapy in Newcastle & Tea Gardens
If this has been with you for years rather than months, you are not alone, and one appointment wont be enough. My Empowerment Program gives us four sessions, generally weekly apart so there is time to integrate.
Start with a free consultation. Tell me where you are up to, and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person to help.

The program is four sessions, one to one, in my rooms at Lambton or at Tea Gardens. We spend the first on where it began, what feeling you want to move away from and what feeling you'd like to work towards. The next appointment is generally where you will learn some ttols to take home. The third is where we address the main concern head on, after we have gone through the first two layers in a relaxed and focused state, and the last on the months ahead and anything else that still needs addressing.
Anxiety that arrived recently, around one situation, often moves quickly. Anxiety that has been part of how you get through the day since you were young is usually attached to a belief that was set a long time before you had any say in it.
Your subconscious mind holds on to what has kept you safe, because being familiar is how it judges something to be safe. Four appointments give us room to work on that, and then to see what real life does with it before we finish.
The question I am asked most on the phone
A relaxed, focused state, a bit like being deeply absorbed in something. In that state the mind is more receptive to suggestions that fit with what you already want for yourself.
You remain fully aware throughout. You hear everything I say, you can talk to me, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
Hypnosis is used these days in dentistry, in medicine, in law enforcement, in professional sport and in education, alongside therapeutic work like mine.
One to one, in my own rooms, with time between them on purpose

First
When it began, where it turns up now, what you have already tried, and what you would like an ordinary week to feel like. Then your first hypnosis session, which is mostly about settling and getting used to it.
Then
The middle of the program is where we work on what the anxiety is attached to. Joanna, whose review is below, has written publicly about what those middle sessions were like for her.
Last
What tends to set it off, what you might do in the moment, and how to reach me if you want a session further down the track. You leave knowing what happens when a hard month turns up.

“In my first session I had a luxury of completely relaxing, so that I would be ready for the deep work of the second session... As a result I felt calmer, more centred and balanced.”

“I was agitated, emotional and overworked beforehand. Now I am back feeling like my aligned self... We released grief and also emotions that were trapped in me where I really didn't feel like myself. I can't explain how at peace I feel now.”

I cannot promise you that a feeling will be gone, and I would be wary of anybody who does. What I can tell you is what my own clients have written under their own names on Google, and that the ones who did well played a real part in it themselves. That part is yours, and no session can do it for you, it's something we achieve together.
Hypnotherapy is not something that is done to you. You play an active part in it, and it takes determination and commitment on your behalf. When it goes well, we have achieved that together, and the part you played in it is a real one.
All you need is an open mind, to be able to follow simple instructions and want the change for yourself, not because someone else wants the change.
People come to me about one thing and we frequently find ourselves talking about sleep, or stress, or grief, or a stretch of life that got very heavy, because these things rarely sit on their own.
I have worked in health and wellness for over thirty years and I work with the whole person rather than with one symptom in isolation. If there is something else going on for you, bring it with you and we will look at it together.

Owner of Holistic Health Hypnotherapy
I see people one to one, in my own rooms at Lambton. My diploma covered clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, life coaching and counselling modules. It also included trauma therapy, EMDR and psychotherapy. I have spent over thirty years in health and wellness. I am not a psychologist or a counsellor, and where your doctor is the right person I will tell you so.
A single session works on one situation. The program gives us four appointments, so we can work on what sits underneath, then see what real life does with it, and adjust before we finish.
We decide at your consultation. Some people start with one session and move into the program afterwards, and that is perfectly normal.
Far enough apart for life to test the work, and close enough together to keep hold of it. We set that between us once we start.
Yes, and keep taking what your doctor has prescribed. Any change to medication is a conversation with your GP rather than with me.
You remain fully aware and in control the whole time. You hear everything, you can speak, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
No. I am a clinical hypnotherapist and I do not take counselling clients. What I do sits alongside talk therapy rather than replacing it.

No. Medicare doesn't cover hypnotherapy, and it can't be claimed on a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Whether your private health fund pays anything back depends on your fund and your extras cover, so it's worth checking with them before you book. If you'd like to talk it through first, book a free phone call with me.
These are independent Australian health and professional bodies. They are not connected to this practice and they do not endorse it.
The consultation is free. Pick a time in my calendar and tell me where you are up to, and if I do not think I can help you I will say so.
Pick a day and time that suits you, and I will call you then.
