Hypnotherapy in Newcastle & Tea Gardens
If you have been running flat out for so long that settling feels foreign, you are not alone, and it does not mean you are handling it badly. A mind that has been on for a long time needs help getting off, and that is the part I work with.
Start with a free consultation. Tell me where you are up to, and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person to help.

Stress therapy with me is one to one, in my rooms at Lambton or at Tea Gardens. Together we look at what has been carrying you and at what your body has learned to expect, in a relaxed and focused state where the subconscious mind is more open to change.
When the pressure has been on for long enough, your system stops treating it as an emergency and starts treating it as normal. Your subconscious mind prefers what is familiar, so being braced becomes the setting rather than the exception.
A weekend gives your diary a rest. It does not tell that older part of the mind that it can stand down, which is why so many people describe going away and lying awake anyway.
None of that is a personal failure. It is simply how the mind works, and it is the reason we work at that level rather than adding another thing you have to remember to do.
The question I am asked most on the phone
A relaxed, focused state, a bit like being deeply absorbed in something. In that state the mind is more receptive to suggestions that fit with what you already want for yourself.
You remain fully aware throughout. You hear everything I say, you can talk to me, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
Hypnosis is used these days in dentistry, in medicine, in law enforcement, in professional sport and in education, alongside therapeutic work like mine.
One to one, in my own rooms, and often the first proper rest in a while

First
What has been going on, how long it has been like this, where it shows up in your body, and what has already been tried. I am listening for the pattern underneath what you tell me.
Then
You settle back in the chair and I guide you into that relaxed, focused state. People who have been running on adrenaline often tell me afterwards that they had forgotten the feeling. You hear every word I say and you can stop whenever you want to.
Last
What tends to wind you back up, what you might do about the parts you can change, and what we work on if you come again. You leave with something to use rather than only something to think about.

“I was agitated, emotional and overworked beforehand. Now I am back feeling like my aligned self... We released grief and also emotions that were trapped in me where I really didn't feel like myself. I can't explain how at peace I feel now.”

Some people come once, feel the difference and get on with it. Others are carrying something bigger underneath and we work across three or four sessions. I will often give my clients a stress reduction recording to use at home to help reset their nervous system and retrain the mind that this is their new normal.
Hypnotherapy is not something that is done to you. You play an active part in it, and it takes determination and commitment on your behalf. When it goes well, we have achieved that together, and the part you played in it is a real one.
All you need is an open mind, to be able to follow simple instructions and want the change for yourself, not because someone else wants the change.
People come to me about one thing and we frequently find ourselves talking about sleep, or stress, or grief, or a stretch of life that got very heavy, because these things rarely sit on their own.
I have worked in health and wellness for over thirty years and I work with the whole person rather than with one symptom in isolation. If there is something else going on for you, bring it with you and we will look at it together. Anxiety often sits underneath stress. For that I offer anxiety hypnotherapy, and where anxiety has been there a long time, a four-session anxiety program.
If it is really Hypnotherapy for Insomnia in Newcastle you are after, there is one on that, and the rest of the mental wellbeing pages has all of them.

Owner of Holistic Health Hypnotherapy
I see people one to one, in my own rooms at Lambton. My diploma covered clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, life coaching and counselling modules, as well as trauma therapy, EMDR and psychotherapy and I have spent over thirty years in health and wellness. I am not a psychologist or a counsellor, and where your doctor is the right person I will tell you so.
It is. A good deal of what I see began as ordinary pressure that nobody stopped to look at, and it is far easier to work with earlier than later.
Sometimes one, more often three or four where it has been going on for years. We talk about that at your consultation.
That is my job rather than yours. People who arrive certain they will not settle are the ones who most often surprise themselves.
You remain fully aware and in control the whole time. You hear everything, you can speak, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
Yes, and keep taking what your doctor has prescribed. Any change to medication is a conversation with your GP.
No. I am a clinical hypnotherapist and I do not take counselling clients. What I do sits alongside talk therapy rather than replacing it.
Suite 5, 115 Elder Street, Lambton NSW 2299, and I also see people at Tea Gardens.
No. Medicare doesn't cover hypnotherapy, and it can't be claimed on a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Whether your private health fund pays anything back depends on your fund and your extras cover, so it's worth checking with them before you book. If you'd like to talk it through first, book a free phone call with me.
These are independent Australian health and professional bodies. They are not connected to this practice and they do not endorse it.
The consultation is free. Pick a time in my calendar and tell me where you are up to, and if I do not think I can help you I will say so.
Pick a day and time that suits you, and I will call you then.
