Hypnotherapy in Newcastle & Tea Gardens
If you have promised yourself this was the last one before, you are not alone, and it was never a lack of character. The urge fires below the level where promises are made, and that is the part I work with.
Start with a free consultation. Tell me where you are up to, and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person to help.

Quit gambling therapy with me is one to one, in my rooms at Lambton or at Tea Gardens. Together we look at the moment the urge fires and at what your mind is expecting when it does, in a relaxed and focused state where the subconscious mind is more open to change. I work alongside financial counselling and Gambling Help rather than in place of them.
A promise is made by the conscious mind, on a calm afternoon. The urge arrives later, from a much older part of the mind that has learned what the bet does for you: the lift, the escape, the few minutes of being in with a chance.
Your subconscious mind prefers what is familiar, even when you consciously want something different, and it does not weigh what the habit is costing you the way you do when you sit down and add it up.
None of that is a personal failure. It is simply how the mind works, and it is the reason I work at the level the urge comes from rather than at the level of the promise.
The question I am asked most on the phone
A relaxed, focused state, a bit like being deeply absorbed in something. In that state the mind is more receptive to suggestions that fit with what you already want for yourself.
You remain fully aware throughout. You hear everything I say, you can talk to me, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
Hypnosis is used these days in dentistry, in medicine, in law enforcement, in professional sport and in education, alongside therapeutic work like mine.
One to one, in my own rooms, and what we cover depends on you

First
What you play, when, how long it has been going on, what happens in the hour before, and what it has cost you. I am listening for the pattern underneath what you tell me, and there is nothing here you need to be embarrassed about.
Then
You settle back in the chair and I guide you into that relaxed, focused state, and we work on the urge and on what it is chasing. You hear every word I say, you can talk to me, and you can stop whenever you want to.
Last
The practical side, which matters here more than in most of my work: self exclusion, blocking the apps and the sites, and handing card access to somebody you trust for a while. Then the moments that may test you and what you might do instead.

Financial counselling is free in New South Wales and it is the right place for the money side of this. Gambling Help is on 1800 858 858, day or night. What I work on is the urge and what sits underneath it, and the people I see who do best usually have both halves going at once.
Hypnotherapy is not something that is done to you. You play an active part in it, and it takes determination and commitment on your behalf. When it goes well, we have achieved that together, and the part you played in it is a real one.
All you need is an open mind, to be able to follow simple instructions and want the change for yourself, not because someone else wants the change.
People come to me about gambling and we frequently find ourselves talking about stress, or sleep, or a stretch of life that got very heavy, because the bet is very often doing a job for them somewhere else.
I have worked in health and wellness for over thirty years and I work with the whole person rather than with one habit in isolation. If there is something else going on for you, bring it with you and we will look at it together.
If it is really Hypnotherapy for Habits in Newcastle you are after, there is one on that, and my main page has all of them.

Owner of Holistic Health Hypnotherapy
I see people one to one, in my own rooms at Lambton. Most people are apprehensive or even sceptical when they arrive, and I would far rather you were honest with me about that than pretending. Nothing said in the room leaves it.
Yes. It is one practitioner in private rooms, with no reception desk and nobody else in the building who needs to know why you are there.
Between one and four, depending on how long it has been going on and what else is sitting underneath it. We talk about that at your consultation rather than committing you to a number up front.
Ask me when you ring. There are situations where it helps a great deal and others where you will speak more freely on your own.
Most of my quit clients had tried a great deal before they came, and my honest view is that it counts for you rather than against you.
You remain fully aware and in control the whole time. You hear everything, you can speak, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
Then start with a financial counsellor, which is free in New South Wales, and ring Gambling Help on 1800 858 858. I will still be here for the rest of it.
Suite 5, 115 Elder Street, Lambton NSW 2299, and I also see people at Tea Gardens.
No. Medicare doesn't cover hypnotherapy, and it can't be claimed on a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Whether your private health fund pays anything back depends on your fund and your extras cover, so it's worth checking with them before you book. If you'd like to talk it through first, book a free phone call with me.
These are independent Australian health and professional bodies. They are not connected to this practice and they do not endorse it.
The consultation is free. Pick a time in my calendar and tell me where you are up to, and if I do not think I can help you I will say so.
Pick a day and time that suits you, and I will call you then.
