Hypnotherapy in Newcastle & Tea Gardens
If your confidence goes up after a good week and straight back down after a hard one, you are not alone, and it does not mean the good week was pretend. Confidence that lasts is built rather than found.
Start with a free consultation. Tell me where you are up to, and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person to help.

Confidence coaching with me is one to one, in my rooms at Lambton or at Tea Gardens, over several appointments rather than one. We work on the belief underneath in the chair, and between sessions you take it out into real situations and we look at what happened.
A single session can shift the belief, and for one situation that is frequently enough. Confidence across a life is different, because it has to survive a bad meeting, a sharp comment and a week where nothing goes right.
Your subconscious mind updates on evidence rather than on intention. Several sessions with real weeks in between give it evidence, which is the part a single appointment cannot manufacture.
None of that is a personal failure. It is simply how the mind works, and it is why this one is built as a series.
The question I am asked most on the phone
A relaxed, focused state, a bit like being deeply absorbed in something. In that state the mind is more receptive to suggestions that fit with what you already want for yourself.
You remain fully aware throughout. You hear everything I say, you can talk to me, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
Hypnosis is used these days in dentistry, in medicine, in law enforcement, in professional sport and in education, alongside therapeutic work like mine.
One to one, in my own rooms, with real life in between them

First
Where it stops you, when you first remember feeling it, and what you already do well that you have never given yourself credit for. Then the first hypnosis session.
Then
Between appointments you meet the situations we talked about, and we look at what actually happened rather than at what you meant to do. That is where the evidence comes from.
Last
The moments that still knock you, what you might do in them, and how to hold on to this when I am no longer in the room. You leave with something to use rather than only something to think about.

If your confidence dips around one particular thing, then a single session is probably the better fit. But if confidence is something you experience in many situations and over a long period of time, then several session spaced out will give you the time to build the evidence for your subconscious mind to believe it.
Hypnotherapy is not something that is done to you. You play an active part in it, and it takes determination and commitment on your behalf. When it goes well, we have achieved that together, and the part you played in it is a real one.
All you need is an open mind, to be able to follow simple instructions and want the change for yourself, not because someone else wants the change.
People come to me about one thing and we frequently find ourselves talking about sleep, or stress, or weight management, or a stretch of life that got very heavy, because these things rarely sit on their own.
I have worked in health and wellness for over thirty years and I work with the whole person rather than with one goal in isolation. If there is something else going on for you, bring it with you and we will look at it together.
If what you have read here is not quite it, the rest of the coaching pages lists everything else I see people for, and there is a page on NLP Coaching in Newcastle as well.

Owner of Holistic Health Hypnotherapy
I see people one to one, in my own rooms at Lambton. My diploma covered clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, life coaching and counselling modules, as well as trauma therapy, EMDR and psychotherapy and I have spent over thirty years in health and wellness. I am not a psychologist or a counsellor, and where your doctor is the right person I will tell you so.
Three or four for most people, with real weeks in between. We set that between us at your consultation.
That one is usually a single piece of work on one situation. This is built over several appointments so it survives the harder weeks.
You do, and they are small. The point is evidence rather than homework.
No. The people I see describe feeling more like themselves rather than less, which is rather the point.
You remain fully aware and in control the whole time. You hear everything, you can speak, and you can bring yourself out of it whenever you like.
Both. My diploma covered NLP and life coaching alongside clinical hypnotherapy, and I use them together.

No. Medicare doesn't cover hypnotherapy, and it can't be claimed on a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Whether your private health fund pays anything back depends on your fund and your extras cover, so it's worth checking with them before you book. If you'd like to talk it through first, book a free phone call with me.
These are independent Australian health and professional bodies. They are not connected to this practice and they do not endorse it.
The consultation is free. Pick a time in my calendar and tell me where you are up to, and if I do not think I can help you I will say so.
Pick a day and time that suits you, and I will call you then.
